Harvest 2009
Harvest 2008
Avoiding a late freeze, 2007
has begun a good 2nd season. Over half of the vineyard met
the growth requirements to remain attached to the trellis.
This half of the vineyard is thick with grape clusters which
should be ready for harvesting in late August.
An unusually wet May and June
created a few issues for the vineyard. We were unable to
work in the soil or effectively spray for for fungus while
it was raining. Yet we were advised to harvest on our second
year due to the vigorous growth. 50% or more of the vineyard
was as developed as a 3 year old plant.
Our mid-August 2007 harvest
weighed in at 1250 pounds, we estimate we had 30% production
from the vineyard this year. Next year we should be at 100%.
Our final Brix and PH measurements were 25.5 and 3.7 respectively
which were very impressive for such a young vineyard. This
and the minerality of the soil are key to produce very fine
wine.

Creek Vineyards!
